About RSE Argentina
RSE Argentina is a community of practice for people who develop research software in Argentina. It was formed in late 2025 with the mission of raising the visibility of the RSE role in the country and providing tools to strengthen it.
Research Software Engineering (RSE) is an emerging field that recognizes the importance of software in today’s research. Research Software Engineers combine software development skills with an understanding of academic research.
RSE Argentina aims to:
- Connecting professionals who face similar challenges in the RSE role.
- Promoting institutional recognition of the RSE role.
- Sharing knowledge and good practices in research software development.
Its activities are free and mostly online. They include talks and technical workshops on topics such as reproducibility, RSE in the age of AI, green software, and hands-on sessions with R and Python, among others.
